I finally went to Dollywood. We were in that part of Tennessee, and we had never been before. It was a very rainy day, so it seemed like a great time to go and explore. We were hoping that there wouldn't be a lot of crowds. We were lucky! There were a lot of people, but it never felt overcrowded.
Have you been to Dollywood? It is nestled in a valley between the mountains. There are so many trees everywhere. Whenever the land naturally opens out a bit, there is a neighborhood with rides, restaurants, shops, and places to explore. Personally, I loved all of the green space. Most theme parks feel like a nightmare of concrete, with minimal shade. Dollywood was the opposite.
The entertainment! Oh. My. God. The entertainment was phenomenal! The quality of the entertainment made the very reasonable ticket price seem almost too little. We saw all of the acts that we could see during our time there. Each and every one was of the highest quality! We discovered young, rising talent and go to hear talented people who have been performing for years. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Since we went in October, Dollywood was decked out for Halloween. Because of the rain, we did not stay until they turned all of the lights on at dusk. Even without the lights, the place was magical. I'm so glad we went!
